It is a modification of the modern Chinese topical formula, Huo Xue San (Translation: Invigorate the Blood Powder), which promotes circulation and breaks up stagnation. Best used before exercise to warm muscles and joints, post exercise to soothe pain and soreness, or old nagging injuries.
