Compatibility through Chinese Zodiac

Chinese astrology is a new found passion of mine. After a recent training in Feng Shui, I learned all the ways that our energy relates to the space we live in and even more about Chinese Astrology in general. Below is a broad strokes breakdown of compatability as defined by this system.

We all know that we are born on different lunar years of the Chinese Zodiac. However, there is so much more! We actually have an element that is also assigned to that animal as well. The hour, day, month and year all have animals and elements assigned. Lets focus on the animal of the year of birth for this basic compatibility look.

There are 12 animals in the Chinese zodiac:

Rat

Ox

Tiger

Rabbit

Dragon

Snake

Horse

Goat

Monkey

Rooster

Dog

Pig

These rotate every lunar new year, and the most compatible signs are the three signs that visually form a triangle within the rotation.

Rat, Dragon, Monkey

Ox, Snake, Rooster

Tiger, Horse, Dog

Rabbit, Goat, Pig

Your year in Chinese Astrology is how you present to the world. It is how others perceive you. Knowing that your partner or possible partner is part of the same triangle as you are may feel harmonious. However, there are many other factors to consider. The hour, day, and month of your birth reflect certain aspects of the self. These finer details can cause conflict in relationships.

In this cycle, the animals who are opposite each other often have conflict and are not considered compatible. The animal right after the animal that is oppsite is considered compatible, however, because it is not part of the triangle, it is not the best heavenly match.

If you and your partner are not part of the same triangle, it is possible that other aspects of your chart are and compatibility can still be had. In a family dynamic, most of us find ourselves getting along with some people better then others. This compatibly applies here as well.

Feng Shui is balance between the energies of a space with those who interact with it. Within Feng Shui, items are usually placed in threes unless you are trying to attract love or compatibility with someone. To attract compatability, place things in twos. The same idea applies when supporting compatability that has already been established. It is a good thing when married couples have pictures up from their wedding day because it shows two people who are compatible, happy, and who have chosen each other.

This is a very basic breakdown of compatibility within Chinese astrology. Sarah Carter LAc and Marisa Farr LMT are both able to give Chinese astrology readings or Feng Shui a space of your choice for more harmony, health and happiness.
