Emotional Intellegence Training- The EQ School

Have you ever considered taking emotional intelligence training? You might be surprised by the areas and topic matter that are generally covered in these types of courses. I will be the first to tell you that I didn’t think I needed training like this…. I was wrong.

I had heard about emotional intelligence training and so I decided to explore it. I wanted a self-paced, online option with videos and material I could print and view later if I needed a refresh, and even better if I was given access to re-watch the training in the future.

What I found was a lot of Ph.D. and MD experts offering all types of options. The one I decided to take and gained so much from was called “People, Please!!” and was a course on people-pleasing behaviors. Specifically how we learn them, why we take to those behaviors, and specifics on how to un-learn them.

The EQ School course met all of my above-mentioned criteria. I really enjoyed the course and learned a lot. Now that it has been about a year and a half since I completed the course I can say, it changed my life. I like to refer back to the materials that I decided to print out in order to appeal to the visual learner that I am. I also prefer to make notes while listening to a teacher speak. This training included four separate videos for a total of about 90 minutes of content.

This is content taken directly from The EQ School site and it helped me to determine that the people-pleasing course was right for me. There are other courses on different topics. If this doesn’t appeal to you, I would highly recommend going to the site to see if there is another one that does.

Does this sound like you?

  • Do you always seem to know what everyone else needs or feels, but have a hard time identifying what it is that YOU need or want?

  • Do you often worry about what others are thinking?

  • Do you struggle with saying “no”?

  • Do you tend to freeze up and have difficulty thinking about what YOU really want when someone asks you for something because you’re so focused on how THEY are feeling?

  • Do you look outside of yourself for the answers?

  • Have a hard time trusting yourself to make big decisions?

If, like me, you could answer yes to many (or all) of these questions, then this emotional intelligence training might also bring you support.
