Cosmetic Acupuncture

YES!!!! Cosmetic acupuncture is great for the treatment of sun damage, fine lines, wrinkles, acne, normal aging, rosacea, scarring, discoloration, dryness, etc. I have even seen results in the treatment of nerve damage from cosmetic botox. That’s right, I had a patient arrive asking if I had experience treating the nerve damage from cosmetic botox, I said '“no” since this was not something that I had heard of before. Luckily, she agreed to give Mei Zen a try, within the first treatment, my patient noticed that her eyebrow was lifting back up and the nerve control was returning. It has gotten better and better over the course of the 10 treatment protocol.

Cosmetic acupuncture can work in a variety of ways. The best way to start is to have a session of Mei Zen or cosmetic acupuncture and see what you think. The full protocol is 1-2 times weekly for 10 sessions. This first session is enough for many patients to reports that friends thought “something looks different about you” and the 10 sessions can be pretty drastic, easy to see some significant results in your skin and its overall condition. Though the majority of the points are in the face, these are full body sessions so you will get full body results. The results of these 10 sessions are meant to last 3 years. Many of my patients chose to continue their treatments and come in as often as weekly, some twice monthly and a few monthly as a way to prioritize their skin health. Patients often also find that they enjoy a session to ‘tune up’ right before a special occasion, event or holiday.

If you have a skincare budget with some wiggle room its worth giving this treatment a try. I know you will noticed a difference, and not just with your skin, I have had patients get relief from intense periods, headaches, digestive issues, migraines, even quit smoking while getting cosmetic acupuncture. That said, we can’t bill health insurance for cosmetic acupuncture, this is a cash only service.

Cosmetic acupuncture and acupuncture for skincare is being talked about in mainstream media articles more and more. Ny times had something to say here, and Here is another one that caught my eye. It’s great to see more people learning about all the ways acupuncture can positivity impact the body.
