For most of us, this last year and a half marks some of the toughest times we have had to face in our lives, with our families, and in our careers. The inability to make a plan or project the future has us all feeling a little (or a lot) lost. In addition, a lack of human contact has impacted many. Children are having a particularly tough time as their worlds have been changed greatly. And what about loss? Many have lost loved ones or fear they will…This is leaving us all feeling anxious, stressed, and depressed.

Massage and Chiropractic care can both be a big support to the physical and emotional needs of the body. For stress management, a maintenance plan can be extremely helpful. Weekly in the beginning if you feel the need to really focus and then once you are feeling relief, easing down to once monthly. Supporting depression and anxiety can feel like another task on your list, once you feel better you might wonder how you waited.

When it comes to Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine there are many approaches to supporting mood. It’s commonly recommended that you continue with a therapist or medication manager if you take medication for mood. That said, weekly acupuncture, the addition of an herbal formula, daily exercise and meditation can be extremely effective for supporting mood stabilization. Dietary changing can also be of support. We often need assistance, a couch, mentor or someone to help us through making changes.

For most, increased stress and irregularity of mood are accompanied by digestive upset, sleep disturbance and/ or fatigue just to name a few symptoms. These are also conditions that Chinese medicine and an herbal formula can assist with. A wholistic approach means utilizing the Chinese medicine diagnostic system which recognizes the connections between different organs and systems, this allows us to treat the root of the symptoms instead of managing the symptoms.
