Stress causes increased levels of stress hormones in the body. You have likely heard of adrenaline, cortisol is also a big one. We want cortisol to stay in its antagonistic relationship with melatonin, so that we wake up with energy and fall asleep naturally and easily. If that is thrown off by stress, then we begin to feel poorly, tired, foggy headed, insomnia, anxiety, and more
We Are Moving
After 12 years in the Portland Medical Building, we have decided that it is time for a change of scenery. We are eager to announce, starting January 2nd, 2023 we will be seeing you at our new location in Cedar Hills. We will miss the downtown vibe, the people, the wonderful businesses that we have come to love, and the restaurants that we enjoy.

Reflexology At Home
In our feet, there are thousands of nerve endings and almost seventy acupuncture points that correspond to different systems, organs, and parts of the body. By stimulating these nerve endings we are able to “talk” to the whole body. This stimulation “wakes up” or brings energy to those places that need it, or “calms down” or re-regulates energy to those places that have more than is needed. Reflexology should not be used to diagnose or treat illness, however it is a wonderful compliment and support to most medicines and their treatments (western, eastern, energy, spiritual, etc.). This is particularly true as the gentlest forms of this practice almost always help a person to move into the parasympathetic nervous system. This system inhibits the body from over working and restores the body to calm and rest.

Three At Home Angels for Prevention and Acute Low Back Pain
Many of us have been there or witness someone else who’s been there! The pits of despair when low back pain ignites and leaves us crawling to the toilet, unable to stand, and feeling so helpless.
I’ve been there. I’ve helped myself and others get out of there! Like a scary version of being lost in wicked woods with demons of a fairy tale-acute pain is horrid and can effect not only our body but also our emotional and mental health.
These are some small general things you can do to aid in self care in acute low back pain and in general as preventative care!

Massage for Motor Vehicle Accidents
Meet Jacque Perry, LMT
As a Massage Therapist my goal is to help my clients gain a healthy, pain free life style through regular body work, and education on self care. I feel that Massage is a positive way to stimulate the body and mind to heal from a traumatic experience or just the stresses of everyday life. I strive to facilitate healing and comfort for every client and person I touch.
I have been volunteering at OHSU in the infusion clinic for just over a year now. My work is focused on cancer patients going through treatments and other medically complicated patients. I enjoy doing this light therapeutic massage and giving patients a moment of comfort during a very stressful time. Comfort touch can be a helpful way to relieve some side effects from chemotherapy and other treatments. I have taken several classes to learn how best to work with Oncology patients and the side effects from their treatments.
Jacque graduated from East West College of Healing Arts in 2012. With a focus on Deep Tissue, Structural Bodywork, Myofacial Release. License #19303.
