Qi Gong for Immune Support

This Fall, it feels important to share some reset point for the body.  Many points can be effectively accessed through pressure.  Below we share some of the techniques for using two of our favourite points, Lung 1 and Liver 14.

We use this points for immune support as well as jet lag, grief and irritability, and much more.  They make a great reset if you start to feel a bit under the weather, upon returning from another time zone, or for a quick rejuvenating break from your work.

Start by standing in an easy position, balance your weight evenly between your feet.

Make two ‘bird beaks’ with your two hands by pressing your thumb, first and middle fingers together like bird beaks, then tuck your remaining two fingers in toward your palms.

Place the bird beak you are making with your right hand on the left side of your chest, level with the space between the first and second ribs, approximately below the acromial end of the clavicle, 1.5-2 inches in the depression. Point is typically slightly tender to the touch.

Place the bird beak you are making with your left hand on the right side of your lower chest, below your nipple, under any breast tissue, between the 4th and 5th ribs. This also looks as though your left arm is in a sling which might make this easier to find. This spot is also often tender.

Now, gently tap on these two areas for approximately 30 seconds. You might stop at 15 seconds if you feel the need, you might also continue to tap, gently, not leaving any marks behind, for three minutes.

Repeat daily for 3 days to address the common cold, allergies, general immunity, jet lag, asthma, emotions related to anger and grief. Consider adding this to your daily meditation or other rituals.
