Permaculture: Wha?!? Kiss the Ground Part 4

Permaculture: Wha?!? Kiss the Ground Part 4

Part four: what’s in it for us all?

Draw Down, first plan to remove carbon throughout the world.  France took it to the world for a vote, many countries signed on, the US did/ would not.

Have you ever heard of the ‘legacy load’ this is the amount of CO2 that we omitted from 1778 to present.  Then there is our daily omissions.  Even if we stop our daily omission, the legacy load will still be there, warming the atmosphere for possible centuries.  We must do more than stop omitting.  We must DRAW DOWN in order to avoid chaos.

Part three:

what’s in it for the economy?

A really beautiful depiction, done by NASA illustrates the carbon in the earths atmosphere daily, throughout the years.  Sped up, you can see that in April, when the land is tilled across the planet in preparation for planting the carbon in that atmosphere skyrockets, then in June it does a nose dive… why you might ask?

Part two: what’s in it for the planet?

Turning soil to dust.  It comes down to over processing.  We know it’s bad for our food.  Turns out it’s really bad for soil as well.  Break down the diversity, release water and carbon, kill the biome and lovely rich and moist soil turns to dust.  Plants don’t thrive in dust, they don’t even grow in dust.  Just add some fertilizer you might think… not that simple. Here’s why…

what’s in it for me?

Did you know that the man who invented fertilizer and pesticides also invented the gas used to kill humans in world war two.  Farmers still use these toxic chemicals, they don’t just impact the food but they also make their way into the soil, water and our guts.  These impact our gut health, killing the most necessary  microbes throughout the body.

What is CranioSacral Therapy?

What is CranioSacral Therapy?

CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle touch, not using more then five grams of pressure about the weight of a nickel. This very light touch is what sets it apart from regular massage or bodywork. Our bodies are interconnected and when one part is not functioning or moving correctly, it starts to influence the rest of our functions leading to pain and discomfort.   CST can help upwind and release the bodies discomfort allowing space for the body to heal.  Our bodies are self healing mechanisms.  The job of your craniosacral therapist is to allow the space for your body to unwind and self-heal.

Top Five Nutrients That Help Women With The Symptoms of PMS

Top Five Nutrients That Help Women With The Symptoms of PMS

NUMBER ONE: Check-in on your B Vitamin needs. Why? Taking a good B Vitamin complex throughout the month will help reduce the symptoms of PMS.  Estrogens, including oral birth control pills or hormone replacement, deplete B vitamins. Depletion can take a toll on the body because we need B vitamins for multiple functions. Vitamin B6 specifically helps to boost the production of serotonin. When serotonin is low, women experience depression, poor memory and poor sleep (which we often see in PMS). In the liver, B Vitamins contribute to detoxification of environmental pollutants, medications and excess estrogens. Having a busy lifestyle, high exercise output, stress, and alcohol consumption all deplete our B’s. Even if a woman is not taking an estrogen hormone, she likely needs them! Make sure to ask your provider about doses.
